Well I learned my lesson the other day. I realized I can’t win a battle against the wind, so I gave in and put my hair in a bun. I am still kicking myself for thinking chin-length hair was a good idea 3 years ago, but it’s finally growing out to a length where I can make a pretty decent top knot! The wind has brought in a cold front, and it seems like it’s here to stay for a couple months. But I don’t really mind! It just means more trips to Starbucks, sitting by the fireplace and an excuse cuddle up and watch movies all day long! Plus, my boyfriend will be home for a couple weeks in December, so I don’t really care what the weather does one way or another. As long as he is home I will be happy!
I wear a lot of skirts during the week, and I’m always on the lookout for something different to mix up my outfits. I spotted this skirt while shopping over the weekend and knew it would be a perfect addition to my skirt collection. I’m not an edgy person in terms of fashion, so I really love how the soft scalloping balances out a leather jacket and a printed top.

I am totally in love with the sweatshirt and skirt trend, and I have been lusting over this sweatshirt ever since its first appearance at J.Crew a couple months ago. Because of Columbus Day, there were so many great sales this weekend, and I scored this sweatshirt for 50% off! And now that the temperature is dropping again, I will probably wear it nonstop (I may have already worn it twice since I purchased it on Saturday…shhh!)
Mixing casual and dressy pieces has become somewhat addicting to me. I love pairing two pieces that wouldn’t ordinarily go together to show that they really can work with the right accessories.
Pencil skirts are a staple every woman should have in her closet. They’re perfect for a day at the office when paired with a nice blouse or blazer, they work so well with a casual sweater and flats for running errands and can be appropriate for a night out when paired with a cute tank, trendy heels and fun, printed clutch.
I’ve been dying to wear a sweatshirt with a pencil skirt. I have seen it all over Pinterest, and thought I should give it a whirl. There’s just something wonderful about the way a pencil skirt and sweatshirt balance each other out. I definitely want to try it again with an embellished sweatshirt and leather miniskirt, but I am pleased with the way this turned out. This is a great go-to office outfit – it’s super comfortable yet super chic!
