Well I learned my lesson the other day. I realized I can’t win a battle against the wind, so I gave in and put my hair in a bun. I am still kicking myself for thinking chin-length hair was a good idea 3 years ago, but it’s finally growing out to a length where I can make a pretty decent top knot! The wind has brought in a cold front, and it seems like it’s here to stay for a couple months. But I don’t really mind! It just means more trips to Starbucks, sitting by the fireplace and an excuse cuddle up and watch movies all day long! Plus, my boyfriend will be home for a couple weeks in December, so I don’t really care what the weather does one way or another. As long as he is home I will be happy!

I wear a lot of skirts during the week, and I’m always on the lookout for something different to mix up my outfits. I spotted this skirt while shopping over the weekend and knew it would be a perfect addition to my skirt collection. I’m not an edgy person in terms of fashion, so I really love how the soft scalloping balances out a leather jacket and a printed top.

Repeat after me: do not take pictures at sunset! I had about 50 photos taken, and only 4 (above) kind of worked. My camera was really confused by the lighting and didn’t know what to do, and most of my pictures turned out to be very blurry. I am still exploring my camera and don’t quite know how to use it, so I’m sure that had something to do with it too.

I bought this dress last year when I was in college and I never really had a reason to wear it. I’m so glad I was finally able to dig it out of my closet and put it to good use last night. It’s so comfortable and fun to wear – it’s made out of that stretchy scuba material, so it’s not clingy or stiff whatsoever! I love the laser cut outs and the faux leather details on the shoulders. The low back is also really great (it’s a lot lower than it looks – I had to wear a bandeau to cover up my bra, so it looks a lot higher than it really is!)

Peplum is possibly one of the best inventions ever, and when you add faux leather to it, it just gets even better! I am so in love with leather details this season, and when I saw this blouse, I immediately knew it had to come home with me! I love that it can easily transition from day to night and works really well with a pencil skirt or blazer for a day at the office. It looks great with dark skinny jeans and heels, which is why I know this is the perfect blouse to wear on a date with my boyfriend (but I have to wait a couple months for him to come home before that happens!)

Betty Draper

If Betty Draper was an adjective, that’s how I’d describe the way I feel in this outfit. I have always admired the scope of costumes on Mad Men, but I’ve got to say – Betty takes the cake. Even though her attitude could use some work, Betty always looks so chic and put together, from her hair down to her shoes. I think the shape of a fit and flare dress is so flattering and truly is timeless!
